Art students are notorious for their fashion sense. I was curious to see how this translates across genders when asked to style the same type of article of clothing. The short sleeve button up is a wonderfully versatile staple that should be in everyone’s closet.

This outfit plays on the reemergence of 60s eclecticism in fashion. The look is centered around the button up with its minimalist floral print. Nick describes this style as “dad on vacation”.
The leather accessories in this look worked well to offset the floral focus of the shirt in this outfit. The contrast of leather and floral adds to the look’s visual interest and timelessness. The watch and belt also served as a simple way to dress up the look.

This outfit took the more casual grunge approach that a lot of people are experimenting with right now. The look uses an almost exclusively monochrome color palette with a slight pop of color in the graphic tee.
The button up ties this look together by adding a contrasting neutral color and an interesting pattern. With fall upon us, taking advantage of layering to make an interesting outfit is the way to go.Â
