8 Things You Didn’t Know About Me

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Scranton chapter.

Hello lovely collegiates! My name is Natalie Krupka and I’m new to Her Campus Scranton, so allow me to introduce myself with 8 things you probably didn’t know about me:

1. I’m Spanish, Cuban, Polish, Austrian and German.

It’s a weird mix, I know, but it’s the truth. My mom’s father was German, while her mother is Cuban and Spanish. On the other side of the family, my dad’s father was Polish, and his mother was Austrian.

 2. I absolutely love physics!

Ever since junior year of high school, I have always loved physics. It allows you to explore and calculate anything that surrounds you and even more.

(P.S. If anyone is taking general physics labs with Professor Truncale, you can help me out for extra credit on Tuesday April 10th!!)

3. I did physics research as a freshman

Last year in the spring semester, I conducted and presented research on “The Emission and Absorption analysis of Rocket Fuel.”

4. I danced ballet at an advanced level

Ballet was one of the best things I have personally done. I trained at Ballet Guild of the Lehigh Valley for 6 years, and I attended the American Ballet Theatre intensives during the summers. My favorite role was a doll in the first act of the Nutcracker. It was a little pas de deux with beautiful choreography, not to mention it had the cutest costume.

 5. My shoe size is a size 2 in kids

Yes, I know it’s VERY tiny.

6. I, surprisingly, ran track and field in high school.

I started track my sophomore year. At the first meet, I ran the 100m dash and the long jump (not my forte). After that, I ran the 100m and 300m hurdles for the rest of the year. During my junior year, while running my hurdles, I landed badly, resulting in an over-extended tendon in my left ankle. This injury ended my track career.

7. I went to districts and the league tournament for golf my senior year of high school.

Don’t let this fool you, I wasn’t crazy good… My dad and brother have always played golf, so when I was young I would go with them and watch while they played, astounded by how they could hit such a tiny ball with great precision every time. My dad was the golf coach at Allentown Central Catholic High School so every now and then I would go around in a golf cart as the cute “coach’s daughter.”

When I was in high school, my dad convinced me to play my senior year to help complete the girls team, so I did, and had an amazing time playing with some of the best girls I’ve ever met.

8. My birthday is on Christmas Eve!

Sometimes it’s tough to have a birthday right before Christmas, because let’s be honest, its CHRISTMAS. However, my mom has always made sure we celebrated my birthday like any other. So, in my family, all Christmas activities are held on the 25th
