What is your favorite activity you are involved in on campus? My favorite activity on campus is being a part of the tennis team. I’ve met some of my best friends on the court here and I cannot imagine what my college experience would be like without them. Some of my best memories from Scranton have definitely happened on the court.
What is the most rewarding activity you have participated in here at the U?Being an Orientation Team Leader has definitely been a very rewarding experience for me. It was great to welcome the new first-year students and gain a new appreciation for the school. The position also helped me to really learn a lot about myself, as well as the career I want to pursue.
How are you able to balance all the activities you take part in on campus and your school work?I’ve tried to always put my schoolwork first. Doing so forces me to get it done. That way, I can enjoy the rest of my college experience.
What are your plans for the future?I plan to attend graduate school next year for Higher Education and Student Affairs. I’m looking forward to working in a university after I earn my degree.
What advice do you have for other students who want to get involved on campus?Definitely find one thing on this campus that you are passionate about and go for it. I knew when I applied to The U that I wanted to play tennis. But, after I joined the team and met some of my best friends, I found other ways that I can get involved. If I didn’t initially go out for the tennis team, I’m not sure I would have ever made the decision to get involved in the Orientation program or ISP.
Why did you choose the University of Scranton?Honestly, the last campus I wanted to look at was The University of Scranton, but my mom made me. Then as soon as I stepped on campus, I loved it right away and felt at home with the community here. I also really was excited about having the chance to play tennis here.
What are three words that describe you?Positive, Loyal, and Easygoing
What are some of your hobbies outside of the activities you are involved in?I’ve always liked to spend as much time as I can outdoors. I love anything from being at the beach, to relaxing in my backyard reading a book, to fishing with my Dad. I also really enjoy watching sports, especially collegiate.
What is the biggest challenge you have come across here at the University?Probably the biggest challenge I’ve faced here is finding time for myself to just relax. It’s really easy to get really wrapped up in the routine of going to class, then work, then practice and forget to take time for yourself to relax during the week. But, I’ve definitely gotten better at that…probably too much better.
