Saturday and Sunday are my favorite days. The holy grail of days, some may say. The days I can roll out of bed at any time I want and throw on a pair of fuzzy, comfortable sweatpants. The pants that never fail me.

I do not need to worry about ripping my pants when my body bends in strange ways. I do not need to worry about wearing a belt in fear that my pants will inch down when I need to pick something up. I do not need to worry about unbuckling my belt when my lunch fills my stomach a bit too much. And I do not need to worry about having to shift my body from left to right trying to find a comfortable position, because in my dear sweatpants- every position is comfortable.

Do sweatpants come with drawbacks? Yes, indeed they do- just as every great thing in life does. For starters, I most certainly look like a hobo strolling the streets in these pants. But, at least I am a happy hobo. The clerks at fancy stores keep their eyes on me longer than they should, in fear I may steal something (@ H&M).

But, will I ever stop wearing my sweatpants?

Never.

They bring me joy in ways that no other types of pants can. Not even leggings, or stretchy jeans.

For that, I am eternally grateful for my three drawers of sweatpants.

Happy almost Valentine’s Day.
