Prison Break Premiere: 5 WTF Moments

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Scranton chapter.

If you were one of those people who binge watched all four seasons of Prison Break on Netflix, you were probably just as devastated as me when they ended Season 4, the supposed “final season” with (spoiler alert) the death of the infamous Michael Scofield. After eight years being off the air, FOX threw a complete curveball by reviving this series where they have the brothers break out of prison yet again. Here are a few WTF moments from the Season 5 Premiere of Prison Break!

1. Michael is alive (wait what?)

After Michael Scofield sacrificed himself to save Sara Tancredi in the Season 4 finale, this reveal was most likely a shocker (and relief) for many fans. Just as Prison Break can be revived from the dead, apparently so can Michael Scofield!

2. Sara remarried (cue the tears)

The “Michael and Sara” love saga was one of the most noteworthy relationships of the entire series. Sara has now evidently moved on from her past with Michael and into a new and happy marriage. Will Michael’s return affect her newfound happiness?

3. C-Note and T-bag’s uncharacteristic urge to help the brothers

C-Note, immersed in a new religion, and T-Bag, recently released from prison, seem like completely changed characters in the season premiere of Prison Break. Both are unusually determined to help Lincoln get closer to finding Michael, leaving us to wonder what their true intentions are. I guess we will have to watch the rest of the season to find out!

4. Lincoln is in charge of getting Michael out of prison

Michael is usually portrayed as the brains behind the “break out of prison” operations; unfortunately, he is the one stuck in prison this time. Lincoln must take charge of the dawning task of trying to figure out Michael’s cryptic clues—putting their brotherly bond to the test.

5. Michael has even more confusing tattoos

The trademark of Michael Scofield’s character is his intricate display of tattoos. Since he is now faced with the fate of potentially being erased from history, it is only fitting that he tries to relay a message to his brother through more mysterious tattoos.

With all these new plot twists and unanswered questions in the first episode alone, it is very hopeful that the rest of Season 5 will live up to the expectations and success of the previous Prison Break seasons!
