Dear roommate,
Although we’ve only been living together for two months, it seems like I’ve known you for so much longer. Living in a twelve by fifteen foot room definitely makes you get to know someone quickly. These tight quarters may not be an ideal living situation, but they’ve definitely created a friendship that will last a long time.
I’ll never forget receiving your Facebook message over the summer a few days after you sent it (I’m not great with social media). You probably thought I was antisocial or something due to my lack of response. I apologize for this and my not replying to many of your texts until the next day. It wasn’t you; I’m just really bad with texting.
Having a roommate was something I’ve never experienced before, so I wasn’t too certain how to go about this situation, so I’m sorry if some of my habits bother you. I won’t be upset if you hate my ticking wall clock. To be honest, I kind of hate it too and want to take it down.
Thank you for putting up with my weird moods and complaining. I know it gets annoying. Thank you for laughing with me even when you have homework to do, even though you can always tell me to leave you alone.
I cannot tell you how thankful I am for all the laughs and good times we have. My times with you have really made my first quarter here everything it should be.
Here’s to the next two quarters living together. I can only hope they’ll be as great as this one.
With love,
Mara
