Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day. I can never say no to hot pancakes, eggs, hash browns and coffee, no matter what time of day it is. Once I moved to San Diego, I knew I had to go out and find the best local breakfast places. I already knew my cult favorites to go to in my hometown, but now I had to venture out and start fresh. Here’s what I came up with.Â
Â
Better Buzz Coffee Roasters
You can’t live in San Diego without trying Better Buzz Coffee at least once. Better Buzz offers amazing coffee at trendy locations that are prime for that Insta content. With handcrafted lattes, teas and ice blended coffees, your caffeine craving is bound to be fulfilled. Even though this won’t be the most affordable place to grab a coffee, it is definitely worth a try. While most locations I’ve been to have been pretty busy, it’s also a lively place to finish up homework with friends. Better Buzz also offers a food menu which includes acai bowls, avocado toast and more that pair amazing with a tasty drink. I never regret splurging on a coffee here!Â
Morning GloryÂ
If you are looking to eat somewhere with a great atmosphere, Morning Glory is the place for you. This is the place to go to if you want to get dressed up and step out with the girls.Â
Morning Glory is a beautifully designed space that overlooks Little Italy. You can see why it took $4 million to design and furnish the restaurant once you see it with your own eyes. Don’t forget to check out the bathroom too, which is a completely mirrored space. This place gets extremely busy during the day so my best recommendation is to come before 9 a.m., as they do not take reservations.Â
Breakfast RepublicÂ
My favorite place for a casual, yet super delicious breakfast is Breakfast Republic. There are many locations scattered across San Diego. This rooster-themed breakfast place has an amazing menu with monthly specials that include fun themed drinks and meals. Some of my favorite things to order are the pancakes, which include buttermilk, Oreo cookie and Lemon coconut flavors (just to name a few), as well as their speciality lattes. This place gets very busy on the weekends too, so be prepared for a little bit of a wait that will be well worth it.Â
Brew Coffee SpotÂ
This is my favorite place to go to finish up lots of homework with friends. Brew has a pretty big seating area with big tables that are perfect for eating, doing work or catching up with a friend. Brew offers coffee, tea and a food menu. I love getting their chai tea latte and a stuffed croissant to fuel me for the day. It has a very relaxed atmosphere and it is a great alternative if you want to try something other than a chain coffee place, like a Starbucks. I find it very easy to finish my work at this cute coffee place.
