Bold & Simple Holiday Makeup

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Seattle U chapter.

As the holidays and colder weather approach, so does the desire to switch up your makeup routine. With all the parties and dinners you’ll be attending, there are plenty of opportunities to incorporate some new and bolder looks than your usual. What better excuse for a dark lip, dark eye, and some glitter than the holiday season? I think we can all agree that there isn’t one.

Luckily, my beautiful friend Maddy let me paint her face for your makeup education expenses, and here’s the look I came up with:

Face:

Smashbox Photoready Primer

Makeup Forever Mat Velvet Plus foundation

Mac Pro Longwear Concealer

Revlon Nearly Naked Pressed Powder

Benefit Hoola Bronzer

Benefit Rockateur Blush

Mac Mineralized Skin Finish highlighter in “Lightscapade”

Eyes/Brows:

Anastasia Tinted Brow Gel in “Espresso”

Mac Paint Pot in “Painterly” (all over the lid as a primer)

E.l.f. Liquid Eyeliner in “Black”

Andrea Mod Lash in “Lash Black 33” (false eyelashes are optional)

Benefit “They’re Real” Mascara

Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette

Lips:

MAC lip liner in “Burgundy”

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in “Copenhagen”
