“There is nothing more that a woman loves to hear [than] how pretty she is.”
Steve Santagati, author of “The Manual: A True Bad Boy Explains How Men Think, Date, and Mate — and What Women Can Do to Come Out on Top” spewed a lot of misogynistic and down right ignorant comments on Saturday, November 1st while participating in a segment with NYC-based comedian Amanda Seales. The segment was hosted by CNN’s Fredricka Whitfield, meant to discuss a video that recently went viral which showcased all of the cat calling a woman will face in just one day while walking in New York City. Hollaback, an anti-street harassment organization, created the video.
“And I can see you shaking your head, but you are not an expert on this, my brother, because you are not a woman walking in the street,” Seales declared to Santagati.
His reply? Frighteningly ignorant.
“No, but I am more of an expert than you, and I will tell you why,” Santagati replied. “I’m a guy and I know how we think more than you guys will ever know.”
And if you all thought it was impossible for him to say anything worse; brace yourselves.
“I’m a guy and I know how you think,” Santagati claimed. “The bottom line is this, ladies: you would not care if all these guys were hot. They would be bolstering your self-esteem, bolstering your ego. There’s nothing more than a woman loves to hear than how pretty she is.”
Seales facial expressions are perfect…almost as perfect as her response:
“You really should just be embracing and welcoming to the fact that women are saying, ‘Hey, we don’t like this,’ not arguing why we shouldn’t. If we say we don’t like it and we are demonstrating that, you as a man of honor should be discussing how we can make you [women] more comfortable.”
And to top it ALL off, he ends it with a real bang.
“It’s just another example of a lot of feminists that have an a la carte attitude towards it, meaning you can do this, I want this sort of thing, but they take it too far,” he said. “It’s kind of like, this thing bordered on ‘The Boy Who Cried Wolf,’ like where’s it gonna go next?”
“But you have to understand something, political correctness has gone too far, if you don’t like it as a woman, turn around and tell them to “shut up”, stand up for yourself, act like a strong woman in 2014.” he concludes.
“Because that doesn’t get you killed, right? Because a woman got KILLED for doing that the OTHER day in Detroit, actually. So you sir, do NOT know what you’re talking about.” Seales fires back.
“THEN CARRY A GUN!” he so clearly intelligently responds.
“Oh my god.” Whitfield scoffs. “Oh MY GOD,” she shakes her head in disbelief.
At this point, it is evident that not only is the discussion over, but he also has done a great job at simultaneously proving his lack of knowledge and Seales’ abundance of it.
