Meet Seton Hall Mock Trial’s Smoothest Talker, Luke Madden!
HC (Her Campus): What is your favorite part about Seton Hall?
LM (Luke Madden): I really enjoy the small school environment that Seton Hall offers. I feel much more comfortable walking into a room and knowing that there is a high possibility that I will know someone or a group people that I can converse with.
HC: Hard work pays off. What’s your dream job?
LM: My dream job would be working in the Oval Office as the Commander in Chief of this great country.
HC: What has been the most rewarding aspect of being involved with Seton Hall Mock Trial? What’s your role on the team?
LM: My current role on the Mock Trial team is opener, where I give the opening statements for my side. It is my job to simply summarize my side’s Case in Chief, while at the same time give the judges a taste of emotion that we seek to invoke from them. With that said, I believe that the communication and public speaking aspects are the most rewarding part for me. I am given the ability to orate my feelings and ideals to other people. I also love the family aspect of being a part of the Seton Hall Mock Trial team. They are my favorite people ever.
HC: If you could give a piece of advice to a freshman, both male and female, who are starting their college experience at SHU what would you tell them?
LM: Don’t be afraid! What you need to understand is that the University culture is a friendly one. There are people on this campus who are willing to accept you for who you are, from your interests to your major to your ideologies. So, be yourself and be active in the Seton Hall community.
HC: What do you look for in a girl? Biggest turn-off?
LM: I like a girl with a nice smile and who can laugh at my jokes. It’s rare to find someone who genuinely finds me funny. My biggest turn-off, though, would have to be excessive piercings.
HC: Being actively involved on campus deserves a long relaxing break when summer hits. What’s your favorite vacation spot and why?
LM: I don’t have a favorite vacation spot but, when I do vacation I like to relax and catch up on my sleep. As long as the vacation is accommodating to me sleeping for hours upon end, then it’s the perfect vacation spot for me.
HC: If you could only have one meal for the rest of your life what would it be?
LM: No doubt a medium rare porterhouse steak from Peter Lugers.
HC: Which actor would you pick to portray you in a film about your life? Why?
LM: In terms of looks, I’d have to say Dave Franco because I have been told that I look like him. In terms of character and style, I’d say Christian Bale because in his roles he portrays a classy, elegant, and gentlemanly look.
HC: What’s your favorite movie quote?
LM: “I’m batman!”
