Here’s why we love him:
Tell us a fun fact about yourself!
I intend to excel at Sewanee socially and academically! I might be a freshman but I really have high goals for myself and peers, especially my Posse! I want to study abroad in Argentina! I also smile all the time. For my Facebook profile picture I literally took it trying not to smile (I still managed to smirk) to show I was now 19 and “more mature” idk. Lol.
What is the craziest thing you have experienced so far at Sewanee?
Wow, this is hard to answer. I’d say various things but I most often see people falling either entering Bacchus or running for it. I’d always laugh at people falling, then I ran for Bacchus once and tripped over a wire of some sort, flying into the air.
Your smile is contagious. What keeps you smiling all the time?
What keeps me smiling is the fact that I was blessed to wake up in the morning. I’ve also realized that being in college I’m very privileged to have this opportunity. My friends also keeps me smiling. I just love life! :)
You are a involved in Posse. What exactly is Posse, and why has it been so important to you this past year?
Posse is a full-tuition leadership scholarship that brings students from diverse backgrounds (Not just African-American or Hispanic students) to compete at the top colleges and universities in groups, or “Posses” of 10. We’re here on campus to leave a positive impact and I am a member of Posse 7. This means that this is the 7th year that Sewanee has been involved with Posse. Posse 8 will be coming in the fall and will visit during Experience Sewanee. Check it out!
What are the key components to a happy life?
1. Remembering that sugar and spice make everything nice!
2. Having a positive outlook on life.
3. Surrounding yourself with positive people (with goals)! No one likes a “Grumpy” friend that complains about life alllllllll the time and doesn’t set high goals for themselves.
4. Don’t compare yourself to others. Think of yourself as your own competition!
Since you are a feminist, how would you define that word?
“A person who believes in the social, political, economic, [and even cultural], equality of the sexes!” -Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
