Get to know our cutie!
Name: Andrew D. Steuer
Nicknames: HoneyBadger, Handrew Andrew, iKandy Andy, Handsy Andy, and Beluga Whale
Birthday: June 4, 1992
Class: 2016
Greek Organization: Chi Psi
Hometown: Knoxville
Major: Â Psychology, English
Relationship status: Single, but looking for someone to take on the world with.
Extracurricular Activities: Hiking, camping, and rafting in Lake Trez. My favorite thing is to just hangout with friends and make new ones.
Best Class You’ve taken at Sewanee: I think my favorite class I have taken was either American Animation up to the 1960’s or Classical Mythology. Nothing beats learning about looney tunes and Disney shows and how shockingly perverse they are. Same goes for Mythology, it was basically story time every morning, and Professor McDonough made the class so much fun with his humor.
Signature Pub Order: Recently, I have changed my signature pub order to: Jalapeno poppers and mozz sticks. Those poppers are such a game changer when it comes to pub.
Signature Dance Move:  I don’t know my signature dance move. I dance to everything. I can two step, wop, cat daddy, “get low,” Shake it, whip/nae nae, swing, pretzel, wobble, and dougie.
Go-to McClurg Line:  I get creative with clurg. Especially when it’s one of their bad days. I will create a great meal with whatever I can scavenge, and finish off the meal with some cereal. Huge fan of cereal for dinner.
What qualities do you find most attractive in girl: Eyes are the most attractive quality in a woman. Next is her smile. Those two qualities I can’t get enough of. I think though personality wise, the most important quality, is the way she carries herself. Confidence is the best quality I could ever wish in a girl.
Biggest Pet Peeve:  Not saying your please and thank you’s. It’s important to show your appreciation.
Spirit Animal: Spirit animal is a Great Dane Puppy. Rage animal is a gorilla.
Weird Body Fact: Â I can make my stomach look freakishly pregnant, and also belly dance probably better than most professional belly dancers. Been able to do it since I can remember.
Describe your sexlife in a Movie Title: If it’s based on just movie title then I would say, “127 Hours.” There’s a sense of adventure , excitement, adrenaline rush, exhaustion, and constant determination to live. If it’s based on the movie then I would have to say, “That Awkward Moment.”Â
What is the most embarrassing song on your iTunes? Â I am so proud of it! Everytime We Touch by Cascada. You can sing to it, run to it, rage to it, dance to it. Such a great song.
What is your most embarrassing Sewanee story? Jesus, there are so many… I would have to say either diving into lake Trez or shattering my nose and giving me a third hole I could breathe out of. That or allegedly, running straight through Fiji’s wall and giving myself a Harry Potter scar on my forehead.Â
Â
Here’s why we love him!
So what made you decide to stay an extra semester and pursue an extra major?
I decided to extend my career at Sewanee because I love this place so much, and I feel it would be a mistake to not pursue something that has interested me since I started my Sewanee career. Sometimes people just need a little more time to mature and grow before they leave this place, and I feel like that I am at that point where it’s almost about time to make a new chapter in my life.Â
I hear you’ve taken a clown acting class. Tell us about that.
Yes, I have indeed taken a clown class here at Sewanee with Professor Landon. His methods are odd, but somehow work. I have a fear of clowns, and so I thought if I took the class I could understand their weaknesses or out clown them somehow. I hate clowns.Â
What is left on your Sewanee bucket list?
I have not yet hiked the entire perimeter trail. Nor have I hooked up in every academic building. Some places are tricky to find a good room.Â
With the new “before I die” board that has been put up, what is something you would write on the board?
Before I die, I would like to hangout with Bill Murray for a week or longer. Learn from the wisest and funniest man to ever live.Â
So your radio name is iKandy Andy. Where do you see this radio career going and what has been your favorite things about it so far?
