An Exquisite Waste of Time: Ultimate Guide to Procrastination

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Sewanee chapter.

As we approach that wonderful season known as FINALS, it is necessary for us to evalute some of the activities we owe our appreciation and sincere gratitude to….

1. Facebook

The perfect way to “stay connected”… aka stalk other people once you’re done checking your notifications. Just make sure to be discrete with information you only know about someone because of their facebook page.

2. Instagram

An entire Social Network dedicated to pictures… yes please! Perfect way to mindlessly scroll through pictures when you already feel brain-dead.

3. Pinterest

The perfect place to search for yummy recipes to try (even though you dont have a kitchen), wedding ideas (even though you are in college and might even be single), clothes (even though you’re a broke college student), and study tips (which is ironic since you are delaying studying by searching for study tips). Just be careful not to lose track of time, or else you will look at the clock and realize hours have gone by while you have created the perfect Pinterest board…

4. Globe/Pub/Stirlings

FOOD… because stress eating is the best.

5. Texting/ Calling Family and Friends

Because human interaction will keep you sane.

6. YikYak

Everyone will be talking about how much they don’t want to be doing work, so it’ll give you some reassurance that you’re not alone.  Plus, YikYak will proabably be extra funny since people will have bent up energy from studying all the time.

Just please use responsibly and be kind! Honestly, take the things you read on YikYak with a grain of salt…

7. Tinder

Because who doesn’t love meeting new people having funny pick-up lines used on them? Sometimes it’s even enough to brighten up your day.

8. Dance Parties

Whether you are celebrating the completion of one hard assignment or letting off some steam before starting the next, there is always time to BUST A MOVE!

9. Cleaning Your Room

Because nothing else feels quite that satisfying sometimes…

Besides, an organized room often adds to that overall feeling that you can accomplish anything!

10. Netflix

The PERFECT waste of time that never fails to entertain.

11. Napping

Self explanatory…ZzZz

12. Working Out

Exercising is clinically proven to be great for reducing stress levels.

13. Drinking

Tea, coffee, Alcohol… you pick your poison.

14. Buzzfeed quizzes

Who needs college to figure out who you are and what you have to offer in life? These quizzes have ALL the answers…

15. READING HERCAMPUS ARTICLES!

Honestly, wouldn’t you do anything to procrastinate? I mean let’s be honest, the ultimate thing to do is MAKE OTHER PEOPLE PROCRASTINATE, because then you don’t feel so bad that you have immense amounts of work to do when everyone else is almost done. Now that you have these great sources of entertainment, you are well on your way to a successful time for FINALS!
