Her Campus has changed my life for the better. Since this is my first year at Stephen F. Austin State University, I wanted to get involved as much as I can. I was already a new member of the Delta Zeta sorority, but I also wanted to find friends outside of that. So when I headed into the involvement fair, one of the first booths asked me “Do you like women empowerment?” Of course I said yes, and that table just so happened to be Her Campus at SFA.
I wanted to find a organization of people who…
- I could share my creative abilities and beliefs with
- Wanted to raise awareness of problems in our world today
- Would make me more involved on campus
- Would like me for my authentic self
As my first semester at SFA is coming to an end, I have realized how much these people have changed my life and I am so glad I found this organization to be a part of. I am also happy to say I have found what I wanted to inside this organization. I would never have met these wonderful and powerful women if I wasn’t involved in Her Campus.
Her Campus SFA has taught me to…
- Be a leader
- Not doubt myself
- Be more creative
- Get out of my comfort zone
- Come out of my shell
Her Campus SFA is about to throw a Texas Reproductive Rights Rally, and I am so proud to be a part of an organization that stands up for what they believe in. High-school-me would never have guessed I would be who I am today. For once in my life, I feel like I am doing things right and getting involved into things that will make a difference in the world and the people around me.
I am so excited to be a part of this organization for the next four years and grow even closer to these women. I am grateful that I found a creative outlet to be able to write whatever my heart desires and be a part of something bigger than myself.
Thank you Her Campus at Stephen F. Austin State University for changing my life and the women involved for being so welcoming.
