6 Homework Munchies for the Chocolate Lover

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Ship chapter.

With the start of fall, pumpkin is taking over the grocery stores and Starbucks. But one flavor that is still delicious no matter the season is chocolate. Here’s 6 delicious snacks for the chocolate lovers out there who just need a break from the pumpkin craze.

1. Chocolate covered banana chips

These are a somewhat healthier take on chocolate snacks. I discovered this concotion when I had extra banana chips laying around and decided to dip them in chocolate. All you need is some chocolate chips, (I prefer dark chocolate but milk chocolate works too!) and some banana chips. Melt the chocolate in a microwave and dip banana chips so that they are completely covered in chocolate. Then place the finished product on a tray with wax paper. Put them in the freezer for about 30 minutes and then enjoy!

2. S’more bars

In the mood for a s’more but don’t have a bonfire to roast them over? Have no fear- meet the s’more bar! My roommate got me hooked on these when her mom made us some for us. They’re so good that the container didn’t last more than 2 days in our house. Check out the recipe at: http://www.food.com/recipe/smores-bars-169114

3. Puppy chow

Who could forget this childhood classic?! It combines our two favorite flavors – chocolate AND peanut butter. Plus, it’s so easy to make.

4. Eggless cookie dough

The cookie dough is almost better than the actual chocolate-chip cookies, so why not just eat the dough?! We’re all told when we’re young not to eat too much cookie dough since it has raw eggs, but here’s a solution: make cookie dough without the eggs. Bam! Enjoy.

5. Chocolate peanut butter bars

I got hooked on hte box kit of these, but they cost almost $5 and made such a small amount. Thankfully there is a homemade recipe that is cheaper and makes so much more.

6. No bake cookies

Here’s to another classic; you don’t even need an oven to make these cookies.

I'm a Junior Communications Journalism major at Shippensburg. In my free time I like to run, read, watch Netflix and spend time with God.
I'm Nicole! Nikki, Nic, anything you want to call me really. I'm from south-eastern Pennsylvania and I love life and beauty. Whenever I'm not writing or taking pictures for my blogs or social media accounts, you can find me (hopefully) at the beach surfing, traveling, making new friends and seeing new places. I'm in love with people I've never met and places I've never been to. I am currently a Senior (!!!) at Shippensburg University, majoring in Communications Journalism (focusing in Public Relations) and minoring in Psychology. I would love to work for a PR firm with advertising, event planning and perhaps a chance to travel. Thanks for reading!! - Nicole
