Meet Shayne Peris! A Senior that will be appearing as the pivotal role of The Duke in Siena College’s new Theatre production of Measure for Measure
Name: Shayne PerisHometown: Glenns Falls, NYMajor: Creative arts Arts & Minoring in BusinessOn Campus Involvement: Stage IIIBest memory at Siena College: That would probably have to be getting cast as a lead in my very first production here at Siena which was The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. It came as a complete surprise nut it was one of the best experiences with a show I’ve ever had.
You directed this year! What got you into Directing?: I became interested in Directing simply because one of my friends of the fact that some of my friends had directed in the past and told me it was a great experience. Of course I had to try it for myself and I am so happy that I did. It’s so redeeming to watch a vision of a show that’s been in your head come to life.
Favorites-Movie: Pulp Fiction
TV Show: American Horror Story
Book: I could always go with the classic series like Harry Potter or LOTR but my favorite stand alone book so far has been David Mitchell’s Cloud Atlas.
Study Spot: Wherever I’m with friends!
Song: This one changes a lot but I’d have to say at the moment it would be In A Week by Hozier. Such a beautiful and haunting song and I listen to it on repeat quite often.
Snack: Cheez Doodles, no question.
Website: YouTube; constantly keeps me entertained. :-)
Coffee Or Tea? Both!
Coffee-Peppermint Mocha; and it’s just about that time of year.
Tea-Throat Coat; it’s gotten me through a lot!
Stay up late or wake up early? Stay up late!!!!
Directing or Acting? I’d have to say I’d choose acting over directing. It’s one thing to be at the helm of the ship but there’s absolutely nothing like being on stage. It’s a drug to me and quite honestly, being able to be on stage and just let my emotions run free has helped me get through a lot of things that have happened to me.
