Do you find yourself struggling to be productive throughout the day? It can be hard to concentrate with millions of other things swarming your mind and becoming distracting, so here are my six tips to make your mornings more productive.
- Early Bird Gets the Worm
-
I know, this is the most cliché and annoying thing about trying to be more productive. Back in highschool, I was not a morning person at all, but throughout college, I have trained myself to adopt these habits for a few reasons. First of all, you will have more time to wake up, relax, and be able to incorporate a few more things in your schedule that you may find it harder to do on a normal basis. Now when I say wake up early, this can be relative to whatever time you want! Personally, 6 a.m. is a total stretch for me, so I like to set my alarm for 7:15. This is about two and a half hours before I have any classes or work to do. This downtime allows me to think about what I want to accomplish today and give myself some personal time to just think about me
- Incorporate Some Exercise
-
Now, I don’t mean go run two miles (but if thats the type of person you are, totally go for it!). I am not very athletic, so I try to incorporate things like yoga, or just some little stretches to help get things moving in the right direction. This not only starts to wake you up and stretch some stiff muscles, but it also gives you quiet time to do things like meditation, going for a walk outside, playing with your pets, or just enjoying the views that are around you in the present.
- Make Your Bed
-
There is just something about coming home to a nicely made bed that almost sets you up for a better nights sleep. It also makes you look more organized and tidy when friends come over.
- Make a To-Do List
-
This is one of my favorite tips out of this entire post. Grab your coffee/tea, sit down and make a to-do list of everything you want to get done. By the end of the day when you cross off that list, it feels so good to think you had a pretty productive day.
- Get a Good Night’s Sleep
-
Hey, I’m not your parent, but a good night’s sleep literally has so many great benefits. Not only will you wake up feeling refreshed, but your body will thank you in so many ways. I personally like to have melatonin gummies on hand if I know I have a long and eventful day the next morning. Either way, that means you should try to include more downtime at night without electronics and try to aim from 7-9 hours of sleep. Trust me when I say getting a good nights sleep totally changes the game.
- Make Your Own Coffee/Tea
-
You literally save sooo much money by making your own drinks at home. It also helps to get your creative mind going on how to take that aesthetic pic of your coffee on your desk in the morning. There’s tons of ways to find different inspiration from TikTok, Instagram, Pinterest or YouTube for recipes to satisfy your wants.
With these six tips, you’ll be sure to find yourself slowly becoming more organized and more productive throughout your day! These small committments make all the difference.
