Ever wonder who the wonderful ladies are behind the Her Campus Siena articles? This year you’ll find out! Check back in every now and then for our profiles of each member of the amazing Her Campus Siena team.
Name: Julianna Rauf
Year: 2019 / Junior
Major: English with a minor in Writing & Communications and Educational Studies
Hometown: Greenville, NY
HC Siena: Why did you choose your major?
JR: I’ve always loved reading and writing, wish to help others love and appreciate the importance of the English language and communication, believe I can teach myself anything through reading, and want to be a journalist for international current events.
HC Siena: Why did you want to get involved with Her Campus Siena?
JR: I thought it’d be a fun way to channel my creative energy through writing about what I want to instead of what I have to.
HC Siena: What is your favorite part of working with Her Campus?
JR: Getting a chance to write for fun instead of for a grade.
HC Siena: Out of all the articles you have written, which one is your favorite and why?
JR: Either of my interviews because they were more planned and inspiring.
HC Siena: What is something that makes you happy?
JR: My little brother, dog, boyfriend, and getting the chance to be lazy.
HC Siena: What would your memoir be called and why?
JR: Too Literal, Too Not because I’m the most confusing person in the world when it comes to logic and emotion due to the fact that everything I say and do is completely unpredictable with very little reasoning. I surprise a lot of people with my deep thoughts, metaphors, and academic knowledge… I also surprise them with my over thinking and creation of non-existent problems… I can be extremely ditsy or way too mature for my age.
HC Siena: If you were stranded on an island, what three things would you bring?
JR: A book on how to get off a stranded island, a knife, and an air mattress.
HC Siena: If you could choose a mentor, who would it be?
JR: Ghandi or Eleanor Roosevelt.
HC Siena: Why do you think everyone should read Her Campus Siena?
JR: Because it’s fun and realistic. It gives great insight on problems or lightens up everyone’s stressful mood.
