Laura Mikus is usually behind the light board during Stage 3’s performances in Foy Hall, but this week I’m putting her in the spotlight as Siena’s Campus Cutie.
Major: Math Education
Year: Junior
Hometown: Mohawk, New York
Favorite Food? Chicken Nuggets. Favorite Condiment? Ketchup!
Favorite Movie? Hook – it’s about Peter Pan as an adult and he goes back to Neverland.
Favorite Animal? Panda!
Favorite class? Why? American Sign Language. It doesn’t really feel like a class when I go to it. It’s fun!
Best memory from Siena so far? I have to say the Student Life Plays this year were probably my favorite. I got to spend time with my friends and enjoy Siena before the academics started.
One place you’d like to travel to? England – the Harry Potter Studio Tour is there. That’s really my only reason.
What do you see yourself doing in five years? I see myself starting to get settled down at my first teaching job.
Biggest accomplishment? I have run 40k total in races this year. Any personal records? Yes! I got my personal best of 32 minutes in the Falling Leaves 5k in Utica, New York.
If you won a million dollars, what would you do? I would travel to London and I would see that Harry Potter thing and I would be happy. Maybe sightsee on top of that.
Something most people don’t know about you? I went to All County every year, from fifth grade to senior year, for chorus. All County is where the best student musicians from the county come and sing in a chorus or play in a band.
Any last thoughts? If I have any, I’ll let you know you later!
