We all know that in high school we all depended on our friends and our boyfriend to create our happiness. Our mood mirrored their mood and that’s just how it went.

Entering college for the first year, my mood mirrored my boyfriend’s and my friends who I hung out with on campus. Of course, at the time, I had no idea I was being like this. Now that I realize how I was, I don’t even know that person anymore.

As time went by, and my rollercoaster of a life trembled on, I became more and more independent, doing what I wanted to do. I became slightly selfish for myself, but sometimes, sometimes, that is okay. I started to be the center of my own happiness. This had to have been one of the best things to happen to me; my mood depends on me… and me only.

Here, I will give you tips on how to become the center of your own happiness:

Be your weird self, whole heartedly.

Don’t change for anyone — if they don’t like you for who you are, you don’t need them.

Do whatever you want, whenever you want.

Go alone if no one wants to go, you’ll be okay.

Don’t be afraid to voice your own opinion

You might make people mad, but at least they know where you really stand.

Smile and laugh, a lot.

Make your smile be the first thing people think of when they think of you.

Surround yourself with people who bring you up.

“Your vibe attracts your tribe”…  and your tribe should be just as awesome as you!
