When it comes to October 31st, East Asian girls tend to scramble for a costume only to wind up with one that doesn’t represent their ethnicities in any way. Maybe it’s due to the fact that when we Google “Asian Halloween costumes,” the first images are of white people in culturally appropriative outfits. Luckily, if you don’t want to be a ninja or disrespect a cultural dress this year, I found a variety of East Asian female characters that you can dress up as!
I sorted this list alphabetically by genre, so feel free to scroll until you see a person or title that you like. In addition to this, clicking on a name should show you how to dress up as them! I’m certain you could also utilize your own closet or a friend’s for some of these characters.
