With the crisp autumn breeze blowing leaves off the trees, their colors change from green to orange, even red. The holidays are just around the corner, and we start to layer our clothes to protect our skin from the chilly air outside. The sun goes down sooner, and our days are shorter.Â
I can think of multiple songs that would fit each of the scenarios just listed, and they would make great additions to your fall playlist!
Regardless of what kind of music you’re into, there’s always a song that’ll give you that autumn vibe, these are just a few of what I think fall into that category.
Rock
Walking to class on a foggy morning requires some music I can walk to the beat of, and I always feel that rock is one of those genres that automatically puts you in a good mood. “Kepler-22b” by King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard is more of a soft-rock kind of vibe, but the rhythm keeps a consistent upbeat pace that can motivate anyone for the day ahead of them!
If you aren’t digging that song, I suggest listening to “Year of the Cat” by Al Stewart! This is an equally great tune that, personally, reminds me of Rory Gilmore and her best friend Lane secretly listening to music in her closet.
Alternative
If you’ve ever watched Stranger Things, you’re familiar with the iconic songs they use to send you back to the 80s. “Love My Way” by The Psychedelic Furs will put you right into Hawkins, preparing for an epic battle with another insanely scary monster!
Need a song for those dance parties in front of your mirror? “Heaven Knows I’m Miserable Now” by The Smiths is just the song for that! It’ll make you want to jump right out of your bed, arms waving around in the air, volume up on full blast, jumping and dancing around like what seems like a maniac but you’re just having a great time.
Pop
Sometimes, you just don’t know what songs to play when you have a car full of people. Worry no more, “New to You” by Calvin Harris, Normani, Tinashe, and Offset is bound to be liked by anyone who listens! It works for any situation, party, hangout with friends, or music to listen to in the shower.
Soul
Music that can hit deep and give you an oldies feeling is always comforting, sometimes even sounding similar to Christmas music. “Closer Than Close” by The Stylistics is a soothing love song that’ll put you in the mood to catch up on that romance novel you’ve fallen behind on, or even fantasize about that innocent crush you have!
R&B
Can’t get that one person off your mind? Childish Gambino really hits the spot with his song “Sober.” Once you learn the lyrics to this song, you can shout them at the top of your lungs. Let your feelings out, we get it!
There are dozens of songs I can list that give me the Fall vibes, but if you want to listen to more, check out this Spotify playlist!
