Campus Cutie: Pete Leonard

This week’s Campus Cutie is Pete Leonard, a senior who was willing to sit down with me and share highlights from the past three years, as well as what’s in store for his future. I met with Pete in the library and his kind demeanor quickly led to a moving interview.

Pete is a a senior Accounting and Finance Double major from Hamilton, New Jersey. Pete has strived to make the most of his four years at Saint Joe’s, as he is currently an Appalachia Coordinator, Weekly Service Participant, an avid intramural sports player, and a previous Ignite Leader. Additionally, Pete helps low-income families file their taxes every Spring.

Pete embodies what every SJU cutie should:

a drive to help others and a desire to constantly push himself out of his comfort zone. Coming to SJU, Pete was happy to be close to home, and spent many weeks there as a freshman. He knew that he needed to find something that would keep him at school and allow him to step out into the unknown – he found that when he went on Appalachia as a sophomore.

 “As a freshman, I was completely shy and APEX really allowed me to break out of my shell and become more of a leader on campus,” he said,  “I met so many amazing people who really put my life into perspective, and they change your life in ways you could never imagine.”

This experience allowed Pete to flourish and begin to enjoy his time at SJU. He is enjoying his time as a senior, and credits his amazing roommates as making his experience so wonderful.

“I am extremely close with my roommates, and every night we just have talks about what’s going on and it’s really an awesome part of my living situation.”

What’s next for Pete? After school, he will be accepting a full time offer with PricewaterhouseCoopers and is excited to begin there. He is currently single, and is interested in finding a lovely lady who can match his passion and drive in life. He also loves a girl who can be spontaneous and enjoy the little things in life!
