Learning that I was going to be interning for Seventeen Magazine, one of the most popular girls magazines in the world was exhilarating but also daunting. After recieving word that I got the position from Jillian, the beauty assistant, my mind was traveling a mile a minute. How would I get to NYC three days a week? Would I be a good intern? Would they like me? But let’s be real… the one thing my mind kept coming back to: what was I going to wear everyday?! Â Depending on where you are interning/working, the dress code varies. Luckily at Seventeen, there aren’t many rules. As long as your outfit is stylish (and not obscene), you’re basically good to go! At first I was worried, but now I am having sooo much fun with it! Check out five of my favorite outfits so far!
Black Out: The day that I wore this, it was raining and chilly and I felt like dressing edgy so I decided on this all black look. The crop top is from Brandy Melville and the skirt is from DailyLook.com! I’m also in love with my heels but sadly, they hurt like a b***h! Overall, this look made me feel classy and elegant.Â
Preppy: I really love the way my cobalt blue Ann Taylor heels match my statement necklace perfectly here! My polka dot pants are from J.Crew and the peplum top is from H&M – it was very inexpensive, but is one of my favorite pieces to wear.Â
Business Casual: I absolutely love that it’s acceptable to wear jeans to my internship because I’m totally a “jeans and t-shirt” kind of girl. These dark wash skinny jeans from American Eagle are the epitome of comfort and also go perfectly tucked into my brown leather Anthropologie ankle boots. My light pink chiffon top is from H&M and the blazer is from Urban Outfitters. This outfit is so easy to put together, but I like to think it looks somewhat chic as well!Â
Black & White: This black and white getup literally feels like I’m just wearing my pajamas because it’s that comfy. This dress from Francesca’s is so comfortable and goes perfectly with my black blazer from Urban Outfitters. My favorite part about wearing neutral colors is pairing it with a pop of color here and there. With this outfit, I paired it with cherry red lips and J.Crew flats to match!Â
Cargo Casual: Okay, please excuse my stupid face in the photo above, but this is one of my favorite outfits that I’ve worn so far. I was drawn to this sweater because of the sheer back and zipper detailing on the front – it makes a simple striped sweater look so much cooler. I paired it with my no-fail army green cargo pants from Urban Outfitters and a pair of brown Steve Madden wedges that I’m obsessed with. This outfit is very casual as you can tell, but I think pairing it with heels dresses it up just the right amount!

Now I’m so happy to say that one of the reasons I was so nervous to start my internship has quickly turned into one of my favorite parts of it! I find that it’s helping me to find my own personal style, which is hard to put into words because it changes on a daily basis! Sometimes I love dressing edgy while other days I love wearing super girly and feminine pieces. I hope you gals enjoyed reading about my internship style and five of my favorite outfits that I’ve worn so far! Thanks so much for reading!
