Did you know that heart disease is the number one killer of women?
Today, February 7th, kicks off a month of raising awareness of heart disease in women. It is more deadly than any form of cancer, and it is extremely important that all women are aware of this risk. This is why women, everywhere, are wearing red today to support women and raise awareness. The American Heart Association is encouraging all women to live healthy and be conscious of our bodies at an early age. College is a difficult time to focus on eating healthy, exercising, and managing stress, but allowing time to take care of yourself could benefit you in the long run. Spending an hour a day to relax and replenish your body is worth the time; studying can wait.
Join the fight and wear red today to support your fellow women. You can find out all the information you need to know about heart disease at www.goredforwomen.org. Take the time to check out this website, and be on the look-out for events happening around Philadelphia, and other organizations that are going red!
