Good luck to everyone running in Broad Street this weekend! Here’s a bit of humor to get the pre-race jitters out of your system.
Sign up online and pray you get a bid.
Forget you ever signed up until you check your email two weeks later with confirmation of your entrance. Commence happy dance.
Text your best friend and ask if they got in too. Happy dance round two, you’re both in this together.
Plan to start training the next day so you can run your best 10 miles ever.
Realize the corral you were placed in is way too fast
RSVP “can’t go” to all the end of finals parties taking place May 6th because you’ll be home in bed resting up for the race.
Only to realize you can’t fall asleep because you’re too nervous you’ll sleep through your alarm.
Until you wake up at 4:45am and wish you had slept through your alarm.
But somehow you get out of bed, make it to the start, and realize that race day is incredibly exciting.
Fingers crossed for good weather this Sunday! Hope to run into some of my fellow Hawks on the course, best of luck to everyone running!
HCXO,
Paige
