Senior Rosie DeFillippo spends her early mornings in Starbucks, where I found her with a chicer accessory than the iconic cup – a restyled men’s watch. Read on to see how the 2015 Appalachia coordinator styles herself on her (very busy) days.
Â
How would you describe your style?
“I don’t think that I have a specific style. I frequent secondhand stores, TJ Maxx, & Lands End  (yes, mom move — I know and have come to terms with it!). At the end of the day, I just look for pieces that I am drawn to and are versatile.”
What is the most inspirational location for you?
“Being in nature — when I was growing up, I was lucky enough to have a lake house in the Adirondack mountains in New York. I was there almost every weekend throughout my childhood and find that being in nature and surrounded by natural beauty is peaceful, grounds me and re-centers me.”
Â
What does fashion mean to you? I think, for some, fashion is a way to express themselves but to me, I think about individual pieces and the story attached to them. Whether it be a sweater from APEX, a necklace from Africa, or a bracelet from my friend’s travels in Europe it’s the meaning behind the pieces for me.
Any pieces you can’t live without? “Watches! I am super practical & always have one on. Â When I forget/don’t have it on, I feel like I’m lost and I really appreciate that a watch can keep me on track and be a statement piece as well!”
HCXO,
Taylor
