Best Saratoga Eats For Your Budget

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Skidmore chapter.

Skidmore campus can sometimes feel like a bubble, and heading into town for a meal is a great way to mix things up. Skiddies know that Saratoga is filled with tasty restaurants, but picking one, especially when on a college budget, can be tricky. Here are our picks of the best eats for your budget to try next time you’re feeling adventurous.

Best Weekend Breakfast Spot: Triangle Diner

Country Corner is so last year. Triangle Diner is small, but the delicious specials and homemade bread are worth the wait. The portions are huge too, so you’ll have plenty of leftovers for an afternoon snack.

Best Asian Restaurant: Phila Fusion

Phila has a little bit of everything, so even a big group can leave with everyone satisfied. Money-saving tip: try going for lunch or an early dinner. The restaurant has lunch specials and combo plates that cost less than items on the dinner menu, though the dishes and portions are largely the same. That’s definitely a win.

Best Place to Take Your Parents: Scallions

Scallions is fresh, pleasant, and nice enough to take your parents without being too expensive or stuffy. Their brunch is also a great option if your parents want a good bite before hitting the road.

Best Date Night Location: Druthers

Druthers is known for being equally trendy and tasty, and the reasonable prices make it a great option for a night on the town. For those over 21, the beer menu and bar is a huge plus, too.

Best Lunch Spot: Comfort Kitchen

The menu hits the perfect combination of locally-sourced ingredients and classic comfort food. It features a whole assortment of sandwiches and salads that are hearty but still light enough for a lunch treat.

Best Guilty Pleasure: PJ’s BAR-B-QSA

This spot is a little far away, but everything they serve is incredible. They also have combo plates that are perfect for a group to share. If you feel like eating with your hands and getting a bit messy, check it out.
