Aaron’s Still Throwing a Party, and We Can Still Come and Get It

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at SMCVT chapter.

As mentioned in one our recent events, Aaron Carter performed at a concert venue in Burlington a few weeks ago, and I had been excited since the day the tickets went on sale. I may be still shamelessly in love with all of my favorite bands from the 90’s, but I can honestly say that concert was on of the best nights I have had in a long time! He played his classics like Candy, How I Beat Shaq, Aaron’s Party (Come and Get it), and he even played Not Too Young, Not Too Old. He also sang some popular hits from today’s music, like Get Lucky by Daft Punk, Blurred Lines by Robin Thicke, and Treasure by Bruno Mars. He told the audience that he is currently working on new music and even sang a few of his new songs that were a great combination of his old and new sound. It really proved that he listened to what his fans loved and what they are listening to now, balancing the music of our generation. Aaron also thanked his fans for sticking by him over the passed eight years, crediting us as the only reason he was able to make music, be on tour, and live his dreams all over again. There may have been a few tears shed during that speech. May have.

Meanwhile, Aaron’s older brother, Nick, is in the Backstreet Boys who are still together and also making music similar to their classics as well. Even though the boys are now men, and most of them are married and have families now, they released their most recent album in June, went on a US tour over the summer and are currently on tour in Japan. It’s still that guilt-free, simple, loving life kind of music that we all love and remember.

Now, if only NSYNC would take the hint from the magic that their VMA performance was, I would be the happiest person ever. Until then, two out of three isn’t too bad!
