That Awkward Time Between Halloween and Thanksgiving

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at SMCVT chapter.

That Awkward Time Between Halloween before Thanksgiving

Okay so no one can really agree about what to do during those few shorts weeks after Halloween and before Thanksgiving.  Do we start playing Jingle Bells or hold off until after Thanksgiving festivities pass?

Some people are absolutely ready to start celebrating Christmas as early as possible

and will start putting up christmas trees, lights, playing festive music, and buying eggnog from the grocery store.  They are the people that just love the spirit of Christmas and want to be able to celebrate it for the longest time they can.

Other people, however, are very adamant about NOT starting any Christmas celebrations until after Thanksgiving.  They desire order in their lives and do not want to joy of fall and November to be overshadowed by winter and Christmas.  They want to live in the moment instead of in anticipation of future events and festivities.

This is all fun and good, but why not use the time to celebrate BOTH holidays?  Listen to some light Christmas music whilst sipping eggnog and watching the leaves fall of trees.  They both revolve around similar themes of food, family, love, being thankful.

Sit back, relax, eat some leftover Halloween candy, and let people live their lives!  Enjoy spending time with family and getting excited for breaks from school!!
