Now that Halloween is over, everyone is so ready to jump the gun on Christmas, but hold on just one second…why are people skrting November so hard? I’m slightly biased on my love for November because it’s my birthday month, but November as a college student is debatably one of the best times of the year (besides syllabus week).
For starters, November is the last month to get outside and do stuff that doesn’t require snowpants. As soon as December hits, so does the snow. Personally, I don’t love the snow, so I’m more of a get-outside-before-it-gets-cold kinda gal. This is your chance for the next few months to get a hike in, or go for a run outside. Take advantage before the snow hits, cuz you KNOW you can’t run in the snow.
The month of November also means Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving comes at just the right time for college students. It’s right before finals, the week of not eating, sleeping, socializing, or doing anything besides studying and sitting in front of your computer. Take advantage of this holiday to spend time with your friends and family, to soak in all the goodness and light in your life, and to stuff your face with endless amounts of stuffing and mashed potatoes.
Last, but not least the month of November is your final chance in the semester to go out and have fun with your pals before the end of the semester, and ultimately Christmas break. Do all the things! But like get your work done too.
College goes by quick enough, but it’s important to try to stay present during the short four years we have as students. Take each day, each week, and each month as it comes, because as hard as it may seem at times, there is always good to be found.
