A Love Letter to Sweater Weather

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at SMU chapter.

Y’all.

It’s here.

The time for chilly mornings, pumpkin patches, apple picking, pumpkin-spice-everything, and most importantly…

It’s sweater season.

And even though I live in Texas, where it’s 90-plus degrees for what feels like nine months of the year, I am overly prepared with an absurd amount of sweaters, sweatshirts, cardigans and anything long sleeved.

This is an actual representation of my sweater collection.

You might be wondering why a native Texan owns more sweaters than t-shirts, but here’s the thing: sweaters are the ultimate clothing item.

They’re cozy.

Look at how cozy!

They come in all types of lengths, colors and styles.

You can dress them up or down depending on the occasion: they look good with shorts OR jeans OR shirts OR over dresses…

And when it gets colder you can layer them with a blazer!

Speaking of cold, they keep you warm in one of the frigid classrooms in Fondren Science – or literally anywhere else on campus.

This is how I feel sitting in my 11 a.m. lecture in Fondren.

Sweaters are perfect, end of story.

Here’s to the *actual* start of Fall and sweater weather!
