Brand new to New Orleans Mardi Gras this year? Or returning for another wild weekend? Either way, you can use this info to have the best three days Louisiana can offer.
Â
First of all, be sure to pack an umbrella, water resistant North Face and maybe a poncho to slip your drink under. Thunderstorms begin on Thursday, February 16 and the rain will continue through Saturday. The sky should begin to clear Sunday morning to end the weekend on a sunny note.
Â
Want to look the part? Be sure to check out Perlis, the Cajun clothier. From the short-sleeved Mardi Gras tri color polo to the white long-sleeved polo, you’ll look festive even without beads. Check out their online store: http://www.perlis.com/index.php/signature-sytles/mardi-gras.html?___store=default
Â
The biggest parades are Thursday- Sunday, including Muses, Hermes, Isis and Bacchus. Will Ferrell will be the head of Bacchus, so be sure to get to the parade early on Sunday to see him on the first float.
Â
The French Quarter isn’t the only area where the parades roll. Be sure to check out this schedule to make sure you’re in the right place at the right time: http://www.mardigrasneworleans.com/schedule.html and the map below to find out where to stand.
Â
Also, be sure to go to the ATM so you can buy whatever food, drinks and New Orleans novelties you want and need. Print out the map below so you won’t miss anything exciting!
