Save the Dates: Dallas’ Hottest Upcoming Concerts

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at SMU chapter.

Living in the great city of Dallas brings in pretty much every major concert that goes on tour. Between Palladium, House of Blues, American Airlines Center, Gexa Outdoor Pavillion, Dallas Cowboys Stadium, and Billy Bob’s in Fort Worth there is sure to be a good show every weekend. With New Years right around the corner, the Dallas Convention Center is throwing one heck of a party called Lights All Night. This is the second year in a row for the concert with Ghostland Observatory.

However, it doesn’t have to be New Years for Dallas to have a great concert opportunity. Dec. 6 the American Airlines Center will host Jay-Z and then Trans-Siberian Orchesra on the Dec. 11. Lady Antebellum and Darius Rucker will be one of the Center’s biggest performances of 2012 on Feb. 18, and then Radiohead a few weeks later on March 5. Bob Sieger will conclude the year at the Center on Dec. 17. Those are the only concerts on the calendar for the spring season at American Airlines Center.

Looking ahead, the hottest concert of the summer will be Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw in their “Brothers of Sun Tour” at Dallas Cowboys Stadium on June 9. The pair has been friends for 20 years and went on the road together for the first time in 2001.

The small venues also have great concerts with a more intimate environment for great contact with the performer. Kaskade will be at the club Zouk on Dec. 9, and is a guaranteed good performance. For those of you sticking around in Dallas for Thanksgiving, Randy Rogers Band will be at Billy Bob’s on Nov. 26. Following them, Clay Walker will be there on Dec. 2, Wade Bowen on Dec. 3, and Reckless Kelly on Dec. 9.

Whatever your taste in music might be, you’re sure to find something at one of the many Dallas venues to satisfy your listening ears.
