It’s almost the one weekend in February that we’ve all been waiting for: Mardi Gras! It seems like the entirety of the SMU campus clears out and heads down to New Orleans for one annual weekend of madness. Whether you’re going by car or plane or even RV (y’all are crazy), here are a few tips for your weekend:
- Wear rain boots because the streets can get pretty messy – avoid open toed shoes at all costs
- Drink responsibly – enough said.
- Try to catch a couple parades while you’re there. Some of the beads that the floats throw out are unique, fun souvenirs.
- Bourbon is fun, but crowded. Explore the French Quarter!
- Don’t forget to check out the amazing restaurants– Pat O’s, F&M, and the Palace Café are some fan favorites.
