1. Have cider & coffee cake at Cool Beans
I totally recommend the caramel apple cider and the apple cinnamon coffee cake, both of which are the quintessence of Fall. If you don’t like cider, Cool Beans has lots of other spooky and autumn themed drinks for you to try.
2. Take your fall exams
3. Make a fall playlist
If you need some inspo, check out my fall playlist here, and check out my Halloween playlist here!
4. See a spooky movie in theaters
This one is EZ. There are some wicked new movies in theaters right now, like Jordan Peele’s take on Candyman (and no, I will not be seeing this one in public because I will cry) and classics like the ongoing Halloween franchise. Or, maybe the cartoon version of The Addams Family 2 is scary enough for you. But, no matter what you see, make it fun and eat some overpriced popcorn.
5. Pumpkin Spice Latte tasting – who does it better?
6. Pick up some litter – fall is so pretty, but not with trash on the ground.
7. Take a hike at a state park!
I promise I’m not telling you to “take a hike” in a bad way. This one is fun. Take your friends, your dog, or just enjoy a hike with yourself! My favorite spots are Sesquicentennial State Park and Table Rock State Park.
8. Thrift a fall sweater – no new clothes! Go sustainable!
9. Go to a football game with friends or family! Show your Gamecock spirit!
10. Do a spooky photoshoot with friends
What’s more wholesome than dressing up with friends and taking pictures of each other? Look over Pinterest, gather some fun ideas for your own shoot, and go be cute! This was totally a mood booster for me and helped with my self-confidence too. Plus, you can run around in public looking mad wild and no one will do anything about it.
11. Take supplies to a food pantry or shelter
12. Go camping – can you survive a night in the woods on your own?
13. Read a book…or at least start one
If you’re like me, you haven’t been able to read a book for fun in a while. Whether you’re in a reading slump, or sleep with a book next to your bed, this one is good for disconnecting from your phone and getting some quality time in with yourself. I highly recommend lighting a fall scented candle, especially one from Frostbeard Studios (this isn’t sponsored but it should be.) I really like their candles. Seriously, here’s the link.
14. Write a thank you note to someone
15. Update your resume
16. Make a cozy meal with in season ingredients
Here are some in seasonal produce you can choose from: apples, broccoli, cabbage, carrots, corn, mushrooms, dates, lemon, pumpkins, spinach, and summer squash!
17. Have a picnic
18. Make it through a haunted house or attraction – and no, the one at the state fair doesn’t count.
19. Educate yourself on Indigenous culture
This list isn’t just group activities or outings, but a list of personal goals too. Head over to the state museum, connect with those more knowledgeable or contact local groups and reserves. It’s okay to not know everything and go in search of information to extend your worldview.
20. Attend one of your club meetings
I see you! Stop putting it off or only zooming in.
21. Host or attend a friendsgiving
22. Go to a festival
I bet you can already check this one off the list. Now that festivals are coming back, it’s time to put on your best fit, buy some tickets, and eat lots of fried food. If you got to vibe with Vanilla Ice this past weekend at Famously Hot South Carolina Pride, bonus points to you.
23. Carve pumpkins
24. Decorate for Halloween or fall – the stronger the decor game, the better!
25. Book a study room at t-coop
Good luck on your exams and assignments!
