1. Camp Counselor
Â
If you love kids, this one’s for you! Camp counselors lead kids anywhere from toddlers to teens in a ton of fun activities and keep the cabins from breaking out into chaos. This job is certainly hard work, but also rewarding when you make unbreakable bonds with your campers! In this job, you will likely make around 10 dollars an hour.

2. Orientation Leader
Â
At the University of South Carolina, being an orientation leader is a lot like being a camp counselor for older kids. You keep the events running smoothly, while also leading the students in fun games and activities and making tons of friendships! Salaries vary wildly, but OLs tend to make around 10 dollars an hour.

3. Blogger/Freelancer
Â
This job is perfect for those who want a remote job or love writing. If you have any skill or knowledge that is valuable to others, you can get a lot of traffic on your blog! You can also pick up freelancing jobs on sites like upworthy.com. It takes a lot of work to start making a decent income as a writer, but your salary is almost unlimited!

4. Lifeguard
Â
A lifeguard position is great for anyone who loves the beach or the pool. This job is high pressure, but it is not likely that you will experience any incidents. Lifeguards also make about 10 dollars an hour.
Â
5. Babysitter/House Sitter
Â
This option is great because you likely don’t have to go through much of a hiring process to start making money. Chances are there are people who have known and trusted you most of your life that want someone to watch their kids or take care of their house while they are away. Since people tend to hire babysitters sporadically, they are often pretty generous! I recommend asking around for these opportunities from your neighbors, family, and old bosses.

Good luck finding the perfect summer job!
