Ever find yourself utterly distraught about the lack of autumn-themed activities to do? Sometimes a boring old PSL just doesn’t satisfy that craving for fall. Never fear, we have an ultimate list of fun fall-themed activities, so don your boots and cute sweaters: it’s time to get your fall on.
- Boo at the Zoo

When: October 18-30, 6-9 p.m.
Cost: $11 for Riverbanks members, $13 general public (tickets must be purchased in advance)
Where: Riverbanks Zoo and Gardens, 500 Wildlife Parkway, Columbia, SC, 29210
What: Each year the Riverbanks Zoo goes all out for Halloween. With a haunted carousel and a marshmallow roast, this is a great way to let your inner child shine through and see some cool animals while you’re at it. There are also opportunities for UofSC students to volunteer, which gives you free admission for the event but also a free ticket to the zoo for another day.

What: While a trip to Carowinds does take a bit of time, it’s definitely worth it, especially during the Halloween season. This is a great opportunity to get in the Halloween spirit and scream like a kid again. They’ve got haunted mazes, scare zones and monsters to make it a really fun, spooky experience.
- Pumpkin Carving

When: October 22nd, 5-8 p.m.
Cost: Free with Carolina Card
Where: Greene St.
What: Gamecock Entertainment will be providing free pumpkins and decorating materials to get your fall spirit on! You’ll be able to carve or paint pumpkins into whatever your heart desires and then take it home with you. It’s not really fall without pumpkins, so be sure to take advantage of these freebies!
- Thursday After Dark: Deceased Farm

When: October 24th, 7:30-10:30 p.m.
Cost: Free with Carolina Card if you go at this time or $18 Thurs & Sun or $22 Fri, Sat, & Halloween
Where: Deceased Farm, 382 Olde Farm Rd, Lexington, SC, 29072
What: Deceased Farm is a classic haunted Halloween experience, complete with a haunted hayride, scary escape rooms and creepy corn mazes. This is not for the faint of heart! Make sure you come with friends who will help through the maze and not leave you behind. On the 24th there will be a free shuttle from campus and admission will be covered, so grab some friends and get yo spook on.
- DIY Halloween Arts & Crafts

This is such a cheap and easy way to get into the Halloween spirit. Places like Michael’s, A.C. Moore, Target and even the dollar store are full of cheap Halloween crafts that’ll look adorable around your apartment. Fun Tip: They become more fun when you’re a little bit tipsy.

Where: Russell House Theatre
What: The Rocky Horror Picture Show is truly an experience that everyone needs to have at least once in their lives. This is not the type of movie to take your parents too, but it’s a great movie to watch with a huge group of college students. If you haven’t seen it before, I don’t wanna spoil it, but just know: it’s not gonna be a peaceful moviegoing experience.

What: Fall doesn’t end once November hits! Celebrate the season with Festifall hosted by Carolina Productions. There’s gonna be a photo shoot, wax hands and caramel apples, so make sure you stop by in between classes for some fun!

Where: Blatt PE Center
What: If you don’t have any plans for Halloween, think about putting together a Halloween costume and heading to Blatt. Gamecock Entertainment is transforming Blatt into a haunted house for the night, and after there’s going to be a party with music and free food (always the best).
