According to UofSC, our campus’ College of Hospitality, Retail, and Sport Management is set to open an Apple Authorized Campus Store (AACS) within the next few months. This is only the second AACS in the nation that is going to be run by students. In addition, this store will only be accessible by those involved with the university, which includes students, staff, faculty and alumni.
In the store, there will be the usual genius bar with a variety of tablets, laptops, phones, and accessories that will be ready to buy. Students are going to be in charge of running the day to day operations while authorized Apple workers will be responsible for any repairs. The overall project and opening is being conducted by Jeffrey Campbell, chair of the Department of Retailing, and Matt Brown, the interim dean of the College of Hospitality, Retail, and Sports Management.
There is no set opening date yet, but it is due to open within the next few months. Once it opens, you’ll be able to find it on the first floor of the Byrnes Building right across from the Horseshoe.
This new program will be an amazing opportunity for anyone in the College of Hospitality, Retail and Sports Management to explore, while the rest of us can be thrilled to have an Apple Store so close!
