Luke Bryan Plays it Again in his Second Columbia Farm Tour Performance

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at South Carolina chapter.

Hit country singer Luke Bryan graced Columbia with another performance this past Friday as part of his annual farm tour. Columbia is one of only eight cities to which Luke travels for this coveted casual concert. Hundreds of students from both the University of South Carolina and Clemson, as well as Columbia natives of all ages began gathering at Culler Farms in the early afternoon to start a marathon tailgate leading up to opening acts The Peach Pickers and Cole Swindell. By the time Luke finally hit the stage just after 9:00 pm, the crowd was antsy with anticipation having waited up to 7 hours for the man himself.

One of the most interesting aspects of this concert was the range in age of all of the Bryan fans. Many of the youngest fans were hoisted up on their parents shoulders, and Luke pulled one lucky little girl up onto stage to dance while he performed his summer hit, “Play it Again”. On the other end of the spectrum, many middle aged adults were rocking out to Bryan with the same enthusiasm of the surrounding college students.

The energy at this concert was undeniable. Fans sang and danced through every song, not to mention trying to maneuver in order to get closer to the charming Luke Bryan. Fan favorite songs included “Country Girl (Shake it For Me)”, “Crash My Party”, and “That’s my Kind of Night.” Luke also got creative by incorporating current pop hits into his songs by artists such as Taio Cruz and Meghan Trainor.  Overall, the Farm Tour was a great time for all who attended, and is definitely an event to count down to for next year.
