Wearsafe is a new technology that could end up saving your life. The device works through your phone’s Bluetooth as an app. The little clicker can be used as either a clip on your waistband, or attached to a keychain. When the device is clicked it calls 911, notifies the people you have decided to put in your network (through the app), gives all these people your exact GPS location, and activates a microphone so that the authorities and the people in your network can hear what is happening to you.Â
When I first opened up my Wearsafe clicker, all that information wasn’t really obvious at first glance, but if you check out their website it’s filled with all the details. Also, I emailed the customer service and it was the quickest response from any company’s customer service that I have ever received.Â
This product is perfect for college women who may be using it while studying abroad, hiking, or just walking around campus at night. It is totally affordable, and your parents will probably appreciate you having this product too. When Molly Cole, a sophomore at the University of South Carolina, was asked about the practicality Wearfafe technology she said, “I think I would like to have this technology but I’m not entirely sure I would use it, especially because it has to be hooked up to an app on your phone. If I was really in a situation where I was in trouble I would definitely want to have this product on me though.”
Wearsafe is the perfect technology for the safety of young-adult women. Once it’s set up it’s super easy to use; however, it is a product that is hard to initially get the hang of. It is a product that is great as a keychain so that your chosen network and the authorities can know exactly how to help you when you need it, and overall a great option for any woman.Â
