Editorial Team
Campus Correspondent, Editor-In-Chief – You are responsible for building a staff, producing weekly content, and publicizing your chapter on campus – running your own online magazine that is a part of Her Campus’s national network. The Editor-In-Chief must have:
- Demonstrated interested in journalism, publishing, entrepreneurship, and/or marketing
- Leadership skills
- Clear communication
- Responiveness via email
- Flawless writing and editing skills
- Attention to detail
Managing Editor – The tasks of this position include, but are not limited to, managing section editors and writers, creating weekly editorial calendars, guiding editors and writers, providing editorial tests for incoming writers, and submitting final articles to the Editor-In-Chief. The senior editor should have strong grammar, writing and organizational skills.
Staff Writer(s) – The tasks of this position include, but are not limited to, interviewing various students, faculty, staff, alumni, and special guests, writing weekly articles for one of the main sections, and brainstorming interesting collegiette related topics. Staff writers are expected to submit at least one article per week.
Contributing Writer(s) – The tasks of this position include, but are not limited to, reviewing various students, faculty, staff, alumni, and special guests, writing weekly articles for one of the main sections, and brainstorming interesting college related topics. Contributing writers are expected to submit at least one article every two weeks.
Photographer(s) – The tasks of this position include, but are not limited to submitting original campus photos for photo blog and articles, working along with writers to capture photos relating to special events and profiles.

Marketing Team
Campus Correspondent, Marketing Chief – You are responsible for managing all aspects of marketing for the chapter, overseeing events and promotions, and developing the marketing team. Duties include but are not limited too:
- Publicizing HerCampus.com and the Her Campus Southern Miss chapter on campus.
- Building a staff under you to grow the chapter
- Working with HC National on large-scale client marketing programs (case-by-case basis)
Public Relations Director – The tasks of this position include overseeing and managing all publicity campaigns on campus, managing the social media team, and speaking on behalf of HCSM. Your main priority is to encourage readership and recruitment for Her Campus Southern Miss. The PR director manages the the PR team/assistants and works closely with all aspects of marketing.
Events Director – the tasks of this position includes overseeing and managing all events sponsored by Her Campus Southern Miss. Depending on the event, you will have to organize and manage the Event Assistants, book a venue, discuss financial support with the CC and Treasurer, reach out for sponsorships, as well as figure out more logistics of the event itself. You will also be responsible for reaching out to local boutiques and businesses in order to form mutually beneficial partnerships with respect to events and editorial content.
Graphic Designer – The tasks of this position include, but are not limited to, creating eye-catching fliers, banners, and other appropriate promotional materials supporting the marketing of Her Campus Southern Miss.
