Everything You NEED to Know about Law School: The LSAC Law School Forum

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Spelman chapter.

Figuring out what you want to do after college can be stressful, especially when there’s more than one thing you want to do! Since you’re all ambitious, proactive collegiettes, we know that you’ve already joined the clubs, landed the internships and done the research to try and narrow down the opportunities. If you plan on going to law school, or have even toyed with the idea of law school, we have another research opportunity for you. Every year the Law School Admission Council (LSAC) hosts Law School Forums across the country—including one in Atlanta this month!

LSAC will be hosting their annual Law School Forum at the AmericasMart Atlanta on Friday, November 14. The event offers the most comprehensive assembly of nationwide law schools, and it’s the only law school gathering to host a workshop by someone on the team who actually creates the LSAT! Seventy-five percent of attendees surveyed at the June 2014 Law School Forum in Washington, D.C. discovered law schools they hadn’t considered applying to before attending the Forum—talk about expanding your options!

If you do want to be a lawyer, there are quite a few different fields you can enter. Before you attend the Law School Forum in Atlanta, check out LSAC’s brand new law personality quiz—it matches your personality to the type of law you might choose to practice!

If you’ve ever thought about law school, we definitely encourage you to attend! The Forum will offer the opportunity for you to speak directly with practicing lawyers, admission professionals, financial aid specialists and LSAC staff members who can answer all of your questions about the LSAT and applying to law school.

You can find more information about the schedule for the day and the Forum in general here.
