These are possibly the easiest sweet treats to make. I’m not kidding, even those among you who don’t know what a wooden spoon is will be able to whip these up! They take a few ingredients and about 10 minutes of your precious time before you can gobble them up in half that time (with or without your housemates – that’s up to you).
Here’s how you do it:
1) Melt together 150g chocolate (milk, dark, or both!), 50g butter and 3tbsp golden syrup in a medium saucepan over a low heat. Stir constantly with a wooden spoon until you have a smooth consistency.
2) Remove from the heat and pour in 200g plain rice crispies. Stir it all together until the chocolate mixture has covered the cereal.
3) Spoon the mixture into cupcake cases and pop some Smarties on top to make them extra special.
p.s. The editor would like to add, without upsurping her power, that she loved these treats as a child and that she has a massive appreciation to Bea for making them.
