HBO Max is known for streaming a few hit series, but it is also very underrated. As the seasons change, it can be hard to find a show that can fit the certain aesthetic of the time. I have found five must-watch HBO Max shows that will perfectly fit this season, and will definitely pique your interest. Are you a fan of genres like thrillers, mysteries, dark comedies, adventure, crime, and more? Well, HBO Max has a multitude of genres for you to watch in your free time. After all, the best way to destress after midterms is curling up in your bed while watching a new series!

  1. “The Flight Attendant”

This show depicts the extravagant lifestyle of a flight attendant who parties like there’s no tomorrow, but she’s never missed a flight. One great night of passion leaves to her solving the murder of a passenger.

  1. “The Girl Before”

This series shows the audience how a young woman fell in love with a minimalist house that was built by the greatest architect of the time. She was chosen over a thousand other applicants to have the opportunity to begin a new journey in the house of her dreams. Shortly after she moves in, the history of the house begins to unravel. She starts to investigate to see if she is the next one to experience the same fates as those who lived there before her.

  1. “House of Ho”

Binh Ho and Hue Ho were once Vietnamese refugees that came to the United States to seek the American dream, and they ended up immigrating to Texas to build their empire. Binh Ho started off working at a gas station and now runs a multibillion-dollar company. This show represents the family dynamic within Vietnamese culture while also verifying that you can do anything you set your mind to.

  1. “Abbott Elementary”

This series is a mockumentary that displays the reality of Philadelphia public schools, and what the teachers have to go through to provide their children with the best possible education. Abbott Elementary is just one of those schools, that is severely underfunded, understaffed, and lacks an effective curriculum. Despite all the obstacles the school endures during the academic year, the budget never increases leaving teachers to buy supplies with their own money.

  1. “The Staircase”

This eerie thriller depicts the life of Michael Patterson, a crime novelist who is accused of killing his wife, Kathleen. The body of his wife was found deceased at the bottom of the staircase in the family home. The Pattersons take the news very hard, leaving them struggling mentally to figure out if their father could have really committed such a heinous crime. A lot of personal secrets are exposed throughout the series, leaving the family doubting who they can really trust. This show is based on a true story.

Happy Watching! I promise you will not be disappointed!
