This semester, I have been taking an education class directed towards learning about the difficulties of urban and rural education. In doing so, we have been working with a group of 9th graders at the local Canton High School (a rural school) on an art exhibit relating to the pressures of their daily lives. These students have been working tirelessly on their projects for the past couple weeks. Our goal is to get as large as possible of a turn out from the local Canton community and St. Lawrence population. If you are interested in the local Canton youth, the difficulties of rural education, or art, please come see the exhibit, What’s Pressuring You? Growing Up in the Modern World! It will be running from April 18th to May 2nd, and there will be a reception to honor these hard working students on April 19th from 3-6 p.m, all at The Tauny Center. I hope you can make it!
