Seven years ago, our Outing Club decided to bus a bunch of Saints to Titus Mountain for a day of skiing, live music, food, and drinks. Mind you, we have the second oldest Outing Club in the country, with a huge budget. The school loves the Outing Club and every Saint benefits from that.

Last month, we held our “First Ever Seventh Annual Wicked Winter Cool Down”. The best part about it is our administration doesn’t run this party, the students do. Twenty-five members of our Outing Club take weeks to plan, purchasing 15 school buses, 800 tickets, a rented out lodge and a full day of skiing for almost half our student body. Why? Because it’s one of the best college parties that exists, at least an edition of Play Boy magazine says so.

Here are my tips on how to have the best Titus ever. And if you didn’t have fun last year, be sure to follow these simple steps going into next year:

1. If you know how to ski… bring your skis. Nothing is more fun then a bunch of drunk kids lapping one lift on two trails and at the bottom snow spraying 40 people who are enjoying their drinks outside.

2. Wear anything that makes you feel like an old school hot mama. Because of the 70s and 80s theme, anything is acceptable: Funky sunglasses, cute hats and ear-bands, a retro once piece, a fur jacket with a pair of killer kicks, your moms ski coat from 30 years ago, and bright lipstick that makes all the boys drool. You will NOT be out of place, I PROMISE…

3. Start your day off with mimosas at breakfast if you have a ticket to take the bus, but hit the bathroom before you get on the bus. Yes, the Outing Club knows what’s up. And yes, they do order 3 porter potties located 35 minutes into the drive at a random car stop. But the amount of pee pain you’ll probably experience while getting angry at the dudes peeing into water bottles in the seats next to you is pretty frustrating.

4. Don’t fall asleep on the bus ride there. You are about to experience the best 6 hours of partying of your life in a location where no one is going to interrupt you. I know the kegs and eggs might have done you in, but don’t let it! Fight the urge to sleep and pace yourself!

5. Don’t bring more money then what you actually wanted to spend. A 25-dollar ski ticket that gets you on the chairlift, or into the lodge for all you ski bunnies is totally worth it. But don’t bring 100 dollars to spend on booze and plan to only spend 40. I can grantee you between the bar and lodge food your going to find yourself broke AF.

6. Don’t hold back. Ski, dance, take awesome pictures with your girlfriends (and guy friends) and sip on some dranks. This isn’t your average college party.

I hope this year you all had a happy Titus and they continue to get better. You’re in college, live it up. The next time you see an OC member just give them a quick high five and thank them for letting you have the time of your life.
