To me, the holidays are not complete without watching my complete list of Christmas movies. Many of these films are an essential part of my celebrations because they leave me laughing and quoting for the rest December. Here is a list of the movies I cannot celebrate the season without.Â
Home Alone
The holidays are stressful enough as it is, yet this little 8 year old boy somehow accepts the fact that his parents have disappeared, grocery shops, does laundry, and booby traps the house to ward of some local thieves. Kevin is the true hero of Christmas, and is everything I aspire to be in my day to day life.Â
Christmas with the Kranks
To be honest, sometimes taking a cruise sounds like a good alternative to managing the craziness of the holidays, so I can feel for Luther and Nora Krank when they make this decision. But they decide to skip Christmas all together, so as you can imagine, this leads to a little drama in their neighborhood.Â
Eloise at Christmastime
Eloise is living the life because she literally lives at the Plaza Hotel in New York. Her grandma tells her that “life experiences are the best lessons there is.” This is definitely reflected in the movie, as this six year old girl spends her days scheming and trying to figure out if her friend Rachel’s new fiance is up to no good. Her pure love for the season will leave you feeling touched and inspired.
How the Grinch Stole Christmas
I relate to this movie more and more each year. I feel like the Grinch encompasses a lot of college students at this time of the year.
Christmas Vacation
All Clark Griswold wants is to have a “good old fashioned, family Christmas”… but, it backfires a little, which I think a lot of us can relate to.Â
Elf
Just such a classic.Â
White ChristmasÂ
This movie is just so timeless and cute, and who doesn’t love a good Bing Crosby song?Â
I hope you can find some time in these crazy next couple of weeks to watch at least one of these films, and hopefully it can put you in the holiday spirit!
