Meet this week’s Campus Celebrity, Savannah Strang!
1.Where are you living this year?: I’m living in Thompson House. (The first honor house on Ole Ave across from PDAs hose!)
2. Can you tell us a little more about your honor house, and what you guys are all about?: We are the Thinking Globally, Acting Locally house. We work with the International and Off Campus Studies office to promote issues involving study abroad and different study abroad programs. We also volunteer with Greenvale Elementary School in one of their after school programs to get kids excited about the prospect of studying abroad!
3. Do you have any events coming up?: Because of finals we are pretty much done with events for the year but check back over Interim for more!
4. How else are you involved in campus?: I am a student EMT for the St. Olaf EMT organization, an admissions phoner, the Honor House Senator on Senate and a member of the the Greater Than Campaign (a new Senate initiative to increase awareness of Mental Health issues on campus).
5. What is/are your major(s)?: I’m a Biology major with a Latin American Studies concentration6. Favorite prof and class you’ve taken?: Biology in the Bahamas with Jean Porterfield
7. If you could name one person at Olaf to be a future president of the US of A, who would it be and why?: William Seabrook- he is a great leader, is very hardworking but always knows how to have fun and can make anyone laugh!
8. Any advice to younger students?: Always give yourself time to have fun. You have 4 years to live with and around all of your friends, take advantage of it!9. What is your favorite place on campus?: Thomson Hall.
