This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at St Olaf chapter.

Name: Sonja Nelson

Year of Graduation: 2016

Major/Concentration: Art with management and media studies concentrations

Relationship Status: Single

Favorite Place to Study: The cage

Favorite food: Watermelon

Favorite Movie: Brave – Pixar’s great, and I star in it.

(Note from Maggie: take a look at Sonja’s hair, and tell me that she doesn’t look exactly like Merida.)

Hobbies: drinking tea, intramurals, being artsy, and hanging out with some pretty great Oles.

What’s your favorite type of art to do and why?: Oil pastel or colored pencil drawing, because it can be bright and colorful, and you have more control than in painting.

If you could travel anywhere, where would you go and why?: I want to go everywhere but I’ll settle for Santorini, Greece.  So dang pretty.

What color do you think best describes you and why?: Silver because it’s bright and shiny.  And it’s my roommate’s favorite color, just like I am her favorite roommate.

What is your least favorite subject in school and why?: God blessed the world with scientists, but unfortunately I’m not one of them.  Chem lab was the worst three hours of every week.

Describe yourself in one word: Genuine

Call or text?: I feel like I’m supposed to say call because it’s more personal and efficient and all, but texting’s easier and less intimidating.

What is your ideal date?: Something adventurous. (On April 25th, because it’s not too hot and it’s not too cold, all you need is a light jacket)

Finish this sentence: A girl looks her best when… she’s happiest and spreading that joy to others.

Finish this sentence: A guy looks his best when…he’s talking about something he’s truly passionate about.  Or wearing a flannel shirt.

What do you want the ladies of St. Olaf to know?: Y’all have the biggest hearts.  Your genuine kindness never ceases to amaze me.
